our work
the relationship
ETV has worked with the London Tourist Board for six years. We launched and managed their dedicated TV channel London TV, which highlighted the variety of events and attractions in arguably the world’s most exciting city.
Be it West End theatre shows, gigs, museums, clubs, restaurants or tourist attractions, our TV service covered it all for visitors and Londoners alike.
The London Tourist Board tasked us with building an entertaining and informative TV service that would not only wow the viewer with compelling programming, but allow them to interact with content, be it booking a ticket for a theatre show, mapping the location of a tourist attraction or reserving a restaurant table.
our idea
In 2004, we launched a 24 hours, seven days a week Sky channel which took on life as a web tv channel a year later. We developed a unique booking system to support each video. As the viewer watched the content, another window provided the location of an attraction and the ability to book through the media player, often with just one click.
All the content was produced as snappy bite-sized films and colour coded into event and activity themes. Apart from the London Tourist Board website the content reached 7.5 million hotel guests each year, 1.4 million cab customers a month, was carried on 60 inbound flights a day by BA and other airlines as well as broadcast on all Heathrow Express trains into the capital.
our highlights
Our content was at the heart of a website that records around 1.8 million page impressions each week and one million unique users per month. The client said: “We chose ETV because we wanted somebody who had been there and done it before.”
