The etv media group designed and developed the BBC Children In Need’s first social media fundraising microsite to support their ‘Doing Something Different’ campaign.

The application was launched on 12th October and will remain live until the appeal night on 20th November 2009. It focuses on the BBC Children In Need’s hero item, the Pudsey bandana. The site enables users to upload their photo, purchase a virtual Pudsey bandana and post the image to their social networking page.

Users need to donate £1 for their virtual bandana through Paypal and then save their image to their file system with all money going towards helping disadvantaged children and young people. Once saved, the image can be uploaded directly to their social network profiles on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Bebo API.
